The victims of theMondayafternoon blast were new intakes of the school undergoing screening exercise.
Briefing Reporters on the scene, Kano Commissioner of Police , Adelenre Shinaba revealed that 8 vehicles parked within the premises of the state owned tertiary institution were damaged.
Mr. Shinaba stated that the incident occurred around2.05pmwhen new students of the College were undergoing screening at the school.
The Commissioner disclosed that a suspect was apprehended at the scene as he ruled out car bombing of this latest attack.
Mr. Shinaba said that "every lead seems to point at suicide bombing, unlike our previous experience none of the vehicles parked inside this school caught fire and there is no hole around to suggest a car bombing but all leads are still open for investigation".
The Commissioner further disclosed that lifeless bodies of the affected students have been deposited at the morgue, while the injured are receiving treatment at undisclosed Government Hospital.
The explosive triggered pandemonium in the area as security agents who arrived the scene on time cordoned the busy highway with attendants traffic snarl.
The scene was littered with shattered windscreen as human blood that was spill doted the school premises.
The Public Relations Officer of the School, Malam Muhammad revealed that mangled bodies of victims were recovered from the scene, adding that "it was a terrible sight to behold when we came for rescue".
He stated that "we are conducting screening for our new intakes when a suicide bomber penetrated the orderly queue and blown himself up".
