FG declares Friday May 29 public holiday to mark democracy day.


ABUJA (Interior Ministry Report)- The Federal Government has declared Friday, 29th of May, 2015 as public holiday to celebrate the 2015 Democracy Day.

The Minister of Interior, Patrick Abba Moro, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government urged Nigerians at home and diasporas to support the incoming government and pray for the success of Nigeria’s democratic process, saying the new civilian administration will be inaugurated that day.

Patrick Abba Moro congratulated President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Nigerians for the successful conduct of the 2015 general elections; indicating that it was adjudged as most peaceful, free, fair, credible and transparent. He equally congratulated Muhammadu Buhari (General Rtd) on his electoral victory and wished the incoming administration goodluck and all Nigerians a happy Democracy Day Celebration
