Sky News US Team A teenager has killed his father with a crossbow, shooting him once in the stomach, according to US police. Seth H. Ramsey was arrested on Thursday after officers in Harrington, Delaware, went to the family home to check on his father, Todd Ramsey.
The alarm was raised by co-workers of Mr Ramsey, 41, after he failed to turn up for work on two consecutive days, the Delaware State News reported. Police say that when they got to the home, the teenager admitted he had killed his father.
Officers took Seth Ramsey into custody and then went inside the home, where they discovered his father dead in a bedroom. The cause of death was a single arrow wound to the abdomen. Seth Ramsey has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder and is being held at a juvenile detention facility without bail.
The police affidavit states he told police he had skipped his classes on Tuesday and stayed at home, reports ABC Action News. "He said that his father was in his bedroom from 2pm to 5pm. Seth said that he knew when his father came out he would be mad so he shot him," the affidavit reportedly said.
