NHGSFP is a Nigerian Government-led, costeffective school feeding programme that uses farm produce locally grown, to feed pupils.
NHGSFP is collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Health to deliver an integrated deworming program for pupils in all public primary Schools classes 1 -6 across the country.
This integrated program will be delivering three drugs one of which is albendazole for STH/ schisto treatment, the other two drugs has to do with illnesses endemic in specific state: for river blindness and onchocerciasis and would be State specific.
Earlier today the government of Nigeria tweeted that they’re now feeding five million (5,226,039) pupils in 28,249 schools in 19 states, under the @NHGSFP.
Kano and Katsina will soon take the number of beneficiary states to 21.
More than 50,000 cooks are also currently engaged under the programme.
