G20ChinaSummit2016: What Nigeria Misses Not Being A Member

G20 2016 China Summit agenda is Health of global economy. The G20 is an international and central bank governors from 20 major economies. It was founded in 1999 with the aim of studying, reviewing and promoting level discussion of policy issues pertaining to the promotion of international financial stability.

The members country include:
United State, United Kingdom, France, China, Brazil, Turkey, Russia, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, India, Germany, Canada, Australia, Italy, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Indonesia and European Union.

The G20 comprises of 19 Countries and EU. I believe that the 20th country should have been Nigeria but Africa is under represented in the G20. It is not news anymore from the list of the G20 country member listed above the only African country member is South Africa while Nigeria and Egypt with the potential to be members of G20 are left out.

The G20 is a Political dialogue forum and most developing country would no doubt be interested in many issues on the 2016 agenda, such as the Health of global Economy.

Nigeria in on recession right now and the issue of global economy health should be of important interest to Nigerian, if Nigeria were member of the G20 the Hangzhou China G20 Summit 2016 would have been another avenue where they can discuss issues on increase infrastructure investment for the country and Africa as a whole. That is what Nigeria miss for not been member of G20, Nigeria as a country will certainly benefit from being inside the high level discussions and access to leaders this are some of the opportunities Nigerian miss.

It is very important that Nigeria build strong relationship with friends of the country and G20 summit is one of the way that bond can be build between countries since it's an avenue where leaders meet, relate and eventually discuss issues that can benefit them.
