Army Colonel Petitions Buhari Over Injustice

Lieutenant Colonel Silas Jock Santoi of Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army, Minna, has forwarded a strong evidence of his alleged ill-treatment by the Army to President Muhammadu Buhari for possible consideration and intervention.

The embattled army officer has a running legal battle with the Nigerian Army for allegedly retiring him prematurely on return from a study leave, which the Army said did follow due process.

Colonel Santoi, in his petition to Mr President, said his efforts to get justice over the years had been frustrated. He had in the past written to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, the National Judicial Council, the 6th and 7th National Assemblies and other pro-democratic organisations in the country, seeking justice, but to no avail.

Colonel Santoi said he had at a time appealed to President Buhari through the National Council of State to intervene in the matter, adding that Buhari was now in a better position as the democratically elected President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces to ensure that justice prevailed.
