President’s wife breaks fast with less – privileged.

The Nigerian First Lady, Aisha Buhari has assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari will not let the country down as he is focused on improving their living conditions.

While speaking at the breaking of Ramadan fast with the less – privileged at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja on Friday July 3, 2015, the President’s wife noted that Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam that teaches about giving care, love and forgiveness. She hinted that in this regard she had specially organized the dinner to show love; saying humans are all one in the sight of God.

She commended the peaceful conduct of Nigerians before and after the last elections and enjoined them to continue in the same spirit for the progress of the country. She further expressed appreciation for the role played by the less – privileged towards the success of the last presidential election.

“We won the election through team work. Let the team work continue. The President cannot do it alone. He needs your support. Please support him,” she called.

“You know that the nation is passing through a transition. Therefore, there is need for all to support this government to succeed. I also want to acknowledge your contributions in various fields to socio-economic development which are very important to the survival of our nation.”

The less-privileged who attended the breaking of fast include:
cripples, the blind, deaf and dumb and other disabled people.

Also present were: taxi drivers, tricycle (keke) operators, motorcyclists, tailors, hairdressers, barbers, albinos, orphans, security guards and house helps.

Dignitaries at the event were the wife of the Imo State Governor, Nkechi Okorocha; the wife of the Nassarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura; the wife of the former Governor of Rivers State, Judith Amaechi; the former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire and a former member of the House of Representatives, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, among others
